I saw several similiar situations just like you. From US custom side, they think 1 month is 1 month. Yes, you can extend another 1, 2 or 6 month. They will keep the record of your parents. Think about the future. Everyone wants to be with parents. The SECOND month maybe hurt them later. I say 'maybe', who knows?
