There are no any immigration rule requirements that a new green card holder has to work for the sponsor/employer for a specific period. So,technically you can change your job anytime after you get your GC. Also, there is no any example that a new green card holder has any trouble for job change in any aspects such as application for U.S. citizenship. Some people just care themself because nobody wants to get possible trouble in the future, therefore some people would like to work for the sponsor for a while such as six months. From my point of view, I would change my job if necessary even if I were a new GC holder.
