Ask PJiang for a H1B visa status, Thanks!

Hi Pjiang, I have a concern about the status if I quit my current job.

Here is the situation. I will complete the contract with my empolyer in this May, which means my H1B status is not effective any more. And my new teaching position will start on this August.
1. So during this three month between May and August, I am not working for any employer, what status will I be at?

2. Usually, after the termination of my employment, within how many days will I be still legal if I don't work?
