提上來謝謝對H1B困惑的回答

Thanks very much for everyone's reply, I actually come to Wenxuecity very often, never came to here before yesterday. Right now, I feel so regret, if I had come here before I believe it would save me lots of trouble. I think I have much better idea about H1-B. However, about the quota, where I could get more info about that?

I should also tell my story of the whole green card application; so someone could give me some suggestions.

I came US about two years age holding TN visa, got employer petitioned I140 approved in December 2004, then I asked to transfer my file for CP, but the file got lost, of course no one could tell me where is it, so they asked me to file the transfer again, I did it, but until last September, there was still no news on it.
I work at a government institute in DoD system as a contactor, the contacted company I work lost the contact with the government last September, so I had to transfer to the new contacted company, by all means, even I did not change what I am doing at all, but my employer changed, meaning my approved I 140 is totally wasted, right?
Now I got a new TN with the new company, the company suggested that I changed my Visa to H1B then file I 140 again. They did mention that my priority date will be keep as before, is that right?
