F2違反了不準修課的規定會影響申請綠卡嗎？

現在要申請綠卡，律師說我老婆以前在F2期間作為parttime 學生修過課，（化學和英語文學等），違反了F2不準修課的規定。現在變成H4後，律師要她出境簽證，說是這樣就可以clear 以前的violation，請問有這必要嗎？移民局如何知道她修過課呢？要不要冒這個險，就當沒這回事呢？多謝指教.
