很糟，一團糟。
1. 新增病例日增

阿肯色紅脖子多，近一半人表示不打疫苗。州長也不積極，接種率在全國列後幾名。
2. 醫療負荷嚴重
我們學校的醫學院Icu將滿，呼吸機開了一大半，還有幾位上ECMO的。已經無法保證對其它疾病的患者進行救治。
前幾天一朋友的先生查出陽性，在家隔離。突然病重，招了救護車要送急診。“但是EMT說送醫也是在waiting room,急診滿員。最後決定留家觀察”，朋友這樣寫給我的，看了心裏很難受。好在昨天基本上恢複了，鬆了一口氣。
3. 疫苗還是有效
我們校長今天在全校通告裏這樣寫的：First, vaccines. Yes, they work. They are not perfect, but they work very well in preventing hospitalization and severe disease. We currently have 72 COVID patients in our hospital, and 86% of them are not fully vaccinated. The 10 patients who are fully vaccinated and hospitalized now are older, have chronic underlying health conditions, and/or have a compromised immune system. This includes pregnancy, medication for cancer or autoimmune disease, transplant patients and other conditions that affect their ability to fight infections.
Of the 2,227 COVID patients we’ve treated, none of those who were fully vaccinated have died. Arkansas Children’s reported yesterday that they have a record 24 COVID-positive patients, and none are fully vaccinated.
4. 口罩還是要戴
盡管州裏沒有正式發布任何條令，政府官員在公開場合都戴著口罩。
各大商鋪的員工們也都戴著。購物者戴口罩近幾日也多了起來。街上車似乎也少了許多。
前天本地學區也通過了新學期戴口罩的議案
我們醫學院再三強調員工們要3Ws:
wash your hands,
wear a mask, and
watch your distance.
