early intervention programs，做些啥？

舅媽70年代末就知道也會有癡呆症的可能後，她就開始學習日文，先是跟收音機，然後就自學，。。。 最後她還翻譯了幾篇專業文獻（化學方麵的），這是不是屬於early intervention？
