I've noticed that doctors are quietly no longer pushing the "miracle" drug of the past decade. 

Read up on atenolol/tenormin beta blockers etc. and you will quickly see why it causes so many sudden heart attacks and strokes once the body develops a tolerance to it and you have a "break out" episode. Only answer is to keep jacking up the dosage. 

Atenolol dependency is a deal with the devil. Everything is wonderful and then out of the nowhere BOOM blood pressure goes from normal to 200/100 and the heart has strange unexplained arrythmia. Happened to me when I was in my early 30s and I got the hell away from it (took me a year). But I've seen the damn drug kill so many people.
