造成這種病的病因很多，要做一些檢查化驗，很多時候也不一定能查出原因。

治療手段還是有的，有時候也比較有效。能找出原因的話，對因治療早的話，是可以治愈，或是逆轉的。如果損傷很厲害損傷太久的話，就是對因治療也難以治愈。

通常要查血糖，甲狀腺功能，維生素 B12，葉酸，血常規，需要的話要查其它特殊檢查。如果是甲低，Vitamin B12 缺乏的話，及時治療，治愈的可能性還是有的，但是如果耽誤久了，就是治療也不一定會治愈。就是維生素 B12 在正常範圍，但處在較低水平 （下於 400）的話，也要服用 Vitamin B12。

如果看神經科要等太久的話，趕快看你的 Primary care doctor.
