The differences between Hatha and Bikram yoga
- the hatha form is gentle whereas Bikram yogic sessions are strenuous
- hatha yoga can be practised by people of all ages whereas Bikram sessions are not for the aged or those who suffer from dehydration and heat stroke
- Bikram yoga postures are suitable for weight loss whereas hatha is more of a relaxing session for the mind and body
- since one tends to sweat a lot during Bikram yoga sessions it is advised that one wears minimal clothing. On the other hand, however, there is no such requirement while doing hatha yoga
