除非他的身體狀況很好。European treatment guidelines for multiple myeloma不推薦給65歲以上的病人做SCT，但美國的NCCN guidelines沒有特別強調年紀。另外，asymptomatic/indolent/smoldering myeloma一般不建議用primary systemic therapy，而用watchful waiting until disease progression.
