EGD lower esophagus biopsied-path-Barrett's esophagus. Barrett's esophagus is not cancer. It is a condition in which the tissue lining in the esophagus is replaced by tissue that is similar to the intestinal lining. The risk of esophageal cancer in people with Barrett's esophagus is less than 1%. Dr. will explain this to you in more detail at your appointment.
Small hiatal hernia. This is when a portion of the stomach protrudes upward into the esophagus. The test for helicobacter bacteria was negative. You do not have the stomach bacteria.
2 erosions in stomach biopsied-path-benign. One erosion in lower stomach biopsied-path-minimal inflammation. Duodenum(first section of the small intestine) normal-biopsied-path-benign.
Recommend 1. Repeat EGD one year 2. Follow up office visit. 3. Prilosec 20 mg once every morning
