羊水的成分承受妊娠的增長而不斷變化。早期和中期妊娠的羊水清澈,足月妊娠的羊水則是一種堿性的白色混濁體,內含肉眼可見的小片混懸物質(脂皮,上皮細胞, 毳毛等),其比重在1.007-1.025之間,水分占98%,其餘1%-2%為無機鹽和有機物質,如鈉,鉀,鈣,鎂離子,葡萄糖,蛋白質,脂肪酸,膽紅素,尿素,肌酐,雌激素,孕激素,胎盤泌乳素,溶菌酸及脫離細胞等。所以是鹹的。。。
