NEEDLE CORE BIOPSY:
1. CHRONIC HEPATITIS WITH MILD ACTIVITY, AND PORTAL FIBROUS EXPANSION,
CONSISTENT WITH PATIENT'S CLINICAL HISTORY OF HEPATITIS B-INDUCED DISEASE,
GRADE 2, STAGE 0-1 (BATTS AND LUDWIG).
2. NO PASD POSITIVE HEPATOCELLULAR GLOBULES OR INCREASED IRON DEPOSITION
SEEN BY PAS-D AND IRON STAINS, RESPECTIVELY.
slides contain liver parenchyma with well-preserved architecture, minimal portal inflammation no significant interface hepatitis; however, small foci of lobular inflammation with hepatocyte dropout are present. Mild portal fibrous expansion with no significant ortal fibrosis is seen, confirmed with Masson trichrome stain. The interlobular bile ducts and vascular structures are intact. There are no abnormal intracytoplasmic hyaline globules, as shown by periodic acid-Schiff with diastase (PAS-D) stain. No significant steatosis, ballooned hepatocytes, Mallory hyaline, or granulomas are seen. Iron stain shows no evidence of increased iron deposition.
