If you recently had COVID-19, the CDC recommends waiting about three months before getting this updated vaccine.

the difference is that one does not need to take Paxlovid when he/she still gets infected with covid-19 after taking updated covid vaccine, otherwise he/she may need to take paxlovid once getting infected by covid-19 virus
