I've been living in a ranch house for 13 years and never want to move out. My mom said the house with staircase inside would be too dangerous for us because I just had my first baby when we were looking for a house. Now that I have three kids and they are all over 6 years old they would like a two story house. Sorry, this is the 'forever home', meaning we would never buy another house. Our house is paid off. There's no way my husband would want to pay for another one.
Ranch house is fine. Kids will grow up eventually and there will be plenty of space for us.
Buying two houses is never our plan. We might talk about it but never would do it. Two property, two property taxes.
