Overall PC and peripherals' prices would not come down to this level without Dell's effort. The quality is in line with others. Most of them look cheap, true. The newer Optiplex, XPS and servers look better. I hope they could do the same to the coming new products. Making changes to current one means more cost.
As far as tech support is concerned, you get what you pay for. Most complaints come from home users and small businesses with no basic computer knowledge or no internal tech support team. Troubleshooting is always difficult over the phone. An easy to resolve incident can take days or weeks. If you don't know too much about computers, buy local/on-site support service at the time of PC purchasing.
