My hdmi to dvi connector works fine with lenova ideapad running windows 7 and with a panda board running ubuntu unix, both cases connecting to a Dell digital monitor. I see no reason why R3700 wouldn't work, although I have not used it myself. Given the low price and free shipping, it is worth a try...
Not sure about the dual/single link compatiblity.
