svchost.exe是什麽程序呀

我安裝win2000,上網後幾分鍾，就會出現“svchost.exe程序出錯，會被windows關閉“，之後就不能瀏覽網頁，許多程序不能打開。
又安裝win xp,發現cpu總是100%占用，主要是svchost.exe和system兩個文件。
用norton2004沒有發現病毒。請大蝦幫幫忙。
