Do not think in terms of "fairness"

"付出了很多精力和時間".  It matters to you, that's all good.  But it matters to him much less, if at all. He already pays you a salary; that's what you're supposed to do.

When you have unspoken expectations of him (i.e., please recognize my hard work,) he can sense that burden you have placed on him, even if he does not realize it consciously. That burden works against you because you have a need. If he is unscrupulous, he can leverage it against you.

We all like to be recognized for our hard work. Just make sure part of it is not a reflex left over from childhood.

Generally, you want to give out an air that this job is easy for you, rather than you're laboring through it.

Not sure it is wise to contest the rating he gave you. What could be the outcome? He is not going to change it. You just created one more problem for him.

You can certainly have a talk with him. Maybe something like this:

Thank you for the review. I've read your comments several times, and gave some retrospection on our working relations for the past year. I think it's my good fortune to have a manager like you who has been so supportive and encouraging. I genuinely appreciate it.  You deserve to have empIoyees who achieve ALL your expectations, even exceed them.  I want to be THAT employee. To help myself toward that end, could you please give an example where I've met your expectation and one where I haven't?  so that I have clearer goals to aim at.

You know him better than anyone here. Add your own.
