Should I accept the counteroffer from my current employer?

昨天和老板說了自己收到了一個 job offfer, 一個月後離職。老板問新工作吸引我的原因。我告訴他是因為新工作更fit my skills and It is more focused on reporting and analysis.... 總而言之，新工作更具挑戰性。

老板先祝賀我，又肯定了我繼任後對整體工作做出的貢獻和改觀。然後問我如果他能滿足我對新工作的期望。我會不會考慮留下來。然後他又和我們院的院長去談怎樣才能留住我。他告訴我剛好四月份我們管 business administration operations 的助理院長辭職，他們先讓我兼職代理，然後打廣告，招人，我正式上任。They asked me to send my offer letter (I hasn't signed yet) and resume and told me I will hear more in next few days.

告訴老板前沒想到他會這麽強烈的挽留。但網上的建議好像一邊倒 - don't accept a counteroffer.
