if the company is inside the 695 loop. If you like small town atmosphere, this is the opposite extreme.
If it is in the north, you can live along Rt 83 and Rt 45. But you'll not find many Chinese there. There is a light rail all the way down to BWI Airport.
If it is in the north-west, you can live in the Owings Mills area. The further out, the more small-town it gets.
If it is in the south-west, you can live in the Ellicott City to Columbia area, typical suburbs. There're two H-Mart there. Traffic is bad if commuting into Baltimore City, less because of the volume, the city is old.
If you were young with kids, live in a house in a good school district, moving to Ellicott City/Columbia is worthwhile. Since you are almost an empty-nester and like small-town environment, daily struggle into this old city is not good for your health.
