I am a IT company PM, direct manager quit, applied for the position. got interviewed by big boss, the conversation was good, gave me big hope to get the position. However, after some time, the whole company got re-org, 2 PM teams got merged, the manager position i applied becomes to be a director position, direct report doubled. At this situation, no feed back from my big boss, I do not know how to proceed, I do not think I am the target candidate anymore otherwise my big boss would talk to me. At this time, what should I do? If I do not get this position, if new boss knows I applied the position before, any negative impact on me? Please share some hint. Thanks
