here are leftovers of the domestic MDs. There are surgeons here in the US who were surgeons in China; they usually have had some special experience. I know a doctor in China who came here to do research. He got married with a white girl, whose father is the dean of a medical school. Now he is a dermatologist, one of the best directions for a doctor here. We do not know how he got the position, but anyway he got it.
