if 說實話 helps her, yes tell the truth.

if 說實話 hurts her, then do not need to tell the truth (do not lie either). There is always space between truth and lie; one just needs to find it. She will need to make a good judgement which way is better for her. No suggestion for her, but just my 2 cents about telling truth.
