One little trick: "Keep it simple and stupid, so they understand, we understand" -- I got this from a real smartie (local, made publication in Nature while in college, made money from internet bubbles).

I changed it a little bit, to make it sound more gentle:

Keep it simple and STRAIGHT, so they understand, we understand.
