Sorry that I did not know your whole story, and you did not tell us either -:) 

I thought that if you have been working in the past 6 years (having job(s)), the 6-year working history would have been good enough and the RA stuff might not be that important. Otherwise, the RA might be relevant. For the RA, you were working for your professor, who can be a good reference for you. And your RA work was also reflected in your master degree and publication (which are mostly likely mentioned in your resume). And I do not think anybody would ask for the employment letter for your RA.
