her/him if there are openings in her/his team or in the company, and if not, ask if she/he knows any openings that are fit in other companies, and if she/he would like to introduce you to people who might help, etc.
Most people are willing to help in this situation, especially when you have a good working relationship with her/him. Trust me, referring is the best way to hire people. It is much less risky to hire a person you have worked with before, or a person who is referred by people you trust. A bad hire could be very costly in every aspect.
