A question after getting offer through recruiter

I was told by HR that I was the best candidate on 2nd onsite interview. 2 hours later the recruiter called and said the company would like to extend formal offer next Friday.
I asked if any room for the salary. The recruiter called after she asked the HR and said only 1k more prossible, but they offer good benefits.I still have questions about if they have paid continue education and PTO. The recruiter said she would ask when she had a chance talk to HR, but not now.
1.Is it apporiate that I ask my questions directly to HR? The HR manager did tell me to feel free to contact her if I have any questions.
2.Since there is not much room for the salary,Is it ok if I request a couple thousand $ raise after probation? I don't want to ask for too much and scare them away.

This is my first time to get offer through recruiter. Please advise.

Thanks!
