Sometimes it worthwhile s for you to take risks.  You may seek collaborations or join in other’s projects before you get your own funding.   You can also take the board exams as a backup. 

There are always opportunities somewhere for someone. Things change all the time.

You know your own capabilities and your resources better than anyone else.
