I just switched to my current company Last March , so it's only been 9+ months.
Recently a recruiter recommended me another job opportunity and I got the offer. But I can't decide if I should accept or not.
Reason I don't want to leave: For some reason, I have been switching jobs a lot in the most recent 2 years, I feel tired because every time I had to face new pressure and learn new work. I like my current work environment, my manager is really nice person and easy to get along with. The current company is large ,strong and stable ,which I thought I would stay for at least 3-5 years when I first decided to join last March. The new job is with a much smaller law firm, which means I have to take more responsibility and I will be the only developer there.
Reason I want to leave :
the new offer increased my salary about 30%(from 90k-120k). My current company is a big company but level is low and I don't see potential for growth, now I report to web team lead, who reports to a developer manager. The new job, with a much smaller firm, I will report to CIO and has potential to grow to be a developer manager, although no guarantee when or if this will truely happen, initially i will be the only person to do the development work.
The commute of the above two jobs is basically the same. I believe many experienced professionals had to face similar situation in their career. Please share with me your experience and thoughts. By the way , I am women <40 year and would love to devote time towards family and kids after work. (which means I hate having to work over time)
