- For a credit trader at VP, mid level in the 5-title food chain framework I described in more detail in an earlier post, his/her average pay for 2012 is still a mind-blogging $800k. That is the average. The top quantile will earn way north of a 1 mill beating the VP executives in most other industry with the exeception of a selected few.

- However, timing is everything. In a less hot equity desk, a VP is paid an average $290k, down from $320k of 2011.
