I am a IT director in bay area, about 200k including bonus.
But I know some developer in Google or other company can make more than that.

Personally, I feel I would be very happy if can make make $150K as developer.
There is really not much difference after tax, and the happines really doesn't depend on that, once you make over certain amount.
