as far as I can tell. I worked in the embedded products and this tool was particualrly good for C/C++. In a nutshell, it is a framework which allows you to add new test cases under it with the progress of your project and provides you with some commonly used functions for testing. Regression test is more like an inherent feature - re-running the test traverses the old test cases.
