sorry i still don't understand.

we have a vp with p/l responsibility for a product portfolio, as well as related marketing and channel resources.  not sure if he has direct sales. i know for sure he doesn't have finance or any other backoffice functions,e.g. engineering or operations.

just saw a job posting of a GM role for the same portfolio.  wonder if GM has broader responsibilites or GM=VP.
