can I use cell phone to do conference call with 3 others?

Anyone has this experience? I don't have a home phone at home now ,I never do this before, they gave me a 1-800 number followed with a conference code,

I dialed it with my cell phone and with the conference code, it said, I am the only one to dial in now. I am worrying about the cell phone will not work the way as the home phone.

because it is an important call for me, please give me some suggestion if you have this experience.Do I need to borrow some one's home phone to do it.
