compensation for government jobs. Read them carefully. Ask people who have experiences if you don't quite understand the items.
I once worked in a public univerisity. The salary itself was much lower than that in the industry. The total benefits were valued about 60% of the salary, though, if they were converted into money. It is especially true if you have a big family.
As 胡說之 mentioned, why the hell am I talking about this :). I am not a fan of big government, and US government is getting bigger and bigger.
