My friend thinks the opposite. He said,

俺一直認為，不讀博士不一定行，讀博士是肯定不行。

不隻是waste time，從一個bad博導和他的團隊那裏學到的東西是worse than無價的。

 

What you and my friend have in common is the preference of using 肯定 and not knowing what 行 or 不行 means.

To wake up sooner, define 行 in less than 1000 words.
