I had interview for Sr. Accountant position yesterday, I was told by HR that I was going to meet the controller, and other two or three people for a real estate developer company.
It took me one and half hours to get there, then I was introduced to three team member in the accounting team, one of them is Sr. Accountant who is also Chinese, the other two are American who are very friendly and professional. I thought that we both are Chinese, then the interview will be easier...however things were totally opposite, When she saw me, she did not even give me any smile, asked me if I have lease and rental experience which I did not say that I have in my resume, after I said no, then she immediately said that this position is too challenge for me, I thought if you need this experience, then why you asked me to the interview, you should read my resume first. I really doubt that she even read my resume before the interview.
This position is more related to financial reporting and construction accounting; While I do not have direct experience described in the posting, I have a relevant background that I believe makes me equally qualified for the position. I have MBA in finance from US Univ. and just passed all parts of CPA exam, I was a cost manager in the leading real estate developer company for two years before, and I have more than 6 years accounting experience, this position is pretty easier. After she said that, then the interview did not last more than 10 minutes, I did not even meet the controller at all.
What a terrible Chinese! Should I write a letter to the Controller to defend? What do you think?
