My current manager would start to only look at and talk about your weakness....Do you have any good ideas to ask for promotion?
Case study: I noticed that a few analysts got promotion lately in the other teams but no one even noticed in my team (certainly, I noticed it) so I shceduled a meeting with my manager to talk about my goals this year. I thought that I might bring up the time line for me to develop to next level. During the meeting, I did not even start, she started to talk about the bad opions about a project that I finished a few weeks ago - the fact is that she was very impressed when I finished it becuase it was a very challenging one. She even wrote an email to say nice things about it a few weeks ago.
I am certainly a big chicken because I rather be peaceful than asking something that might cause unfriendly air at work. I thought it is ok to be promoted next year.
What would you guys do?
