what should i do?

i worked for company A before and was kind of forced to resign. now company B is approaching me. however, the senior manager at company B knows the senior manager at company A and they have business contacts sometimes.

I do not know how to stop the senior manager at company A from saying "bad" words about me to the senior manager at company B if the senior manager asks about me and this could happen.

is there any good advice? should i talk to the senior manager at company A and make sort of agreement with this person?
