Racial/ethnic profiling in the workplace and racial/ethnic profiling posts on this forum
While it is unfortunate and regrettable that workplace racial/ethnic profiling remains a sad reality, it is doubly disheartening that this forum seems to be a hotbed for recurring racial/ethnic profiling posts.
Not to self-glorify, it is probably safe to say that most of us who frequent this forum are professionals of above-average education. As such, we really should hold ourselves to higher standards when it comes to promoting diversity, tolerance, and cross-cultural understanding.
It is also worth keeping in mind that bigotry and stereotypical musings are not just incondusive to one's career development/advancement, they are often outright injurious to one's aspiration for a successful and gratifying career.
Last but not least, every once a while, it is likely a healthy practice to take a closer look at ourselves in the mirror: Do we see a reflection of the dreaded negative image/reputation we all too often too casually attribute only to others?
