It's merely a supply and demand game

For the financial sector, not many employers truly value the technical background + MBA combination -- one exception would be private equity and venture capital, because many of these investors are more of entrepreneurs than bankers. So the demand nature for MBAs in this field is quite different from other value creation industries... some banks even hire top B-school MBAs to enhance their brand image! (Bear in mind: most of these transaction-focused financial firms are playing zero-sum games, not truly creating value in the long run. Instead of using creativity to create value, Wall street bankers misused their gift to magnify leverage ratios and blur the underlying risks -- that's how we got into this financial crisis, for the most part. Of course, this downward spiral was also fueled by the greedy nature of human being, including ourselves.)

That aside, ABC MBAs are no better than American MBAs -- unless they have a deep cultural background and great Chinese communication skills.
