The most important thing is to ask what do you want in life and where do you plan to live in 3 years-4years as your child will be stating school then. If you predict you will still be in China, then go; if you feel you will be coming back to Canada, then be ready to take the risk of restarting again here after 4-5 years. Get into Canadian professional system is an important milestone and you can always try to find the next job once you are in. Small town might not be bad at all for a young family to raise a child. ( I am a mother so I may naturally prioritize something I value much which you do not have to agree as career success constitutes part of our personal happiness.  It really all depends what you want from life. Hope all will be fine with you and family.Good luck!
