About myself: Got layoff 1 year ago. Stay home and take care of family. Due to 1 year unemployeement benefit almost end, I am planning to go out to find a job.
Recently a recuriter found me and sent my resume to his client. He asked for my reference since the beginning. As I saw he had detail job description, I believe there is a position available. So I only gave out the reference list with name, no contact phone number. I also marked in the email that I would provide the reference people phone number when they decided to hire me. But that recuriter check my ex-boss right away(by calling company front-desk), even before my phone interview! :(
Then he said my ex-boss gave him a good reference, and arranged a phone interview for me.
At the phone interview, although I was able to answer all tech questions correctly, but I don't think I pass the behavior questions. That "director of software development" woman appears to be very aggressive. I can see that woman expect very passionable people work for her, maybe 24*7. I don't like that company now.
I feel very upset because it appears that the recuriter abused ( or say, I gave him the chance to abused ) my reference. It happened before. The recuriter got my reference just to help themselves, they check reference at the beginning instead of check reference after client decide to hire me.
I really hate myself. If this keep going, no one wants to be my reference anymore. So much trouble.
So upset....
