在公司內部找工作, it depends on the company policy

Some company, the policy is:
After you worked in the same group for 18 month, you can transfer to other group wothout approval by your current manager.
Some other company require get the approval from the current manager before you jump. In this case, you need make your current manager Oked.
Find out the policy first.
