Sounds like you have very good marketable skill set

Agent should wok for you.
Before a agent send your resume to the client company, Agent must get OKed from you.
Don't OK for them if they give you low rate.
Since you already find out the range of the rate, chose the Agent who offer you the best, or ask the first Agent to increase your rate.

Agent is your partner, both of you work together to create the win/win situation for you and for the client company.

Be careful when you deal with a Agent who is in a remote location. you may not get payed in this case. I posted a example couple days ago.
