However, Software QA can only work in software company and it is very easy to be outsourced.
Considering the e long term career change, the are better directions you can go.

Oracle's earning is extremely good last quater even under such bad economy, why, because companies are using database.

生物背景+Database skill is in high demand. With your education and bio work experience + database skill, you will find job everywhere not only in software industry.
