Fannie Mae IT contractor position... is it good?

Most likely I will get a contractor position at Fannie Mae through a small recruiter company. I am in the IT field

Is Fannie Mae a good company to work for now? It was delisted from NYSE a few month ago. Fannie Mae is hiring people from the contractor company. I have been working as employee in the past and never worked as contractor. Not sure whether it is a good move for me. Currently I have a good job, but looking for job in DC area due to the family reason.

Any suggestion/advice is appreciated
