As a junior scientist, your hu*****and would do himself a big service (career development-wise) to take advantage of the opportunities to establish himself.
Exceptions are always possible. But generally speaking, we get what we deserve (it is easy to say that the good-for-nothing Indian Principal Scientist had it easy; but we don't know what he had to do to get to where he is today). Until you have a track record that speaks directly to your accomplishments/successes, it is always wise to lie low and contribute, as opposed to challenge the establishment and complain. Build, contribute, invest, and the rewards will come in time, sooner rather than later.
